Striptease clubs, erotic night clubs and sex saunas are where Bern really shines as a prostitution-friendly city. Some strip clubs offer the usual thing: girls dancing and expecting drinks and tips for giving you attention and lap dances and sexy shows. Other erotic nightclubs are more like a plain brothel (Bordell or Puff in German language) with dancing on the side. Messy Cabaret Club (https://www.messy.ch/) at Neuengasse 17 is not even that messy. It’s one of those old-school bars that stink of spilled beer, with wooden tables and leather stools, and where cabaret girls practice their art. You just don’t find bars like that anymore; everything has to be so sterile that it often lacks a certain character.

Many erotic clubs are not located in Bern itself but in smaller cities nearby like the official bilingual city of Biel/Bielle. Freubad (https://www.freubad.ch/) is half an hour ride away from Bern and it’s a mammoth of a sex sauna (FKK) club. Bern is a bit slow when it comes to nightlife and weekend shenanigans, but for sure it’s not completely dead. People say that Zürich is where you go to party, but there are a few interesting options as well in the capital. Dampfzentrale Bern (https://www.dampfzentrale.ch/) at Marzilistrasse 47 is a bar and a cultural centre situated in an old power plant nearby the river. It's a great place, hosting all kinds of events and serving first-class meals in sleek urban interiors.
