Striptease clubs are the last thing I would associate with Mumbai. I think that sort of dance just doesn’t suit Indian women very well. Contrary to my opinion, clubs like that were huge thing. Eventually things went of control, as every single turned out to operate as a brothel. The administration decided to shut it all down and delegalize strip clubs.

Nowadays it’s a weird secret society where people get invited to events via Facebook groups. There are bars hidden around the notorious Kamathipura district with strippers doing their thing, but it’s all very shady.
